How I Got Here
Why ‘therapy for women over 40?’ Because we often get forgotten. We’ve spent a lifetime serving others and pushing ourselves. We told ourselves “I’ll have time later,” only to realize later came and we were lost. Midlife ushers in the third-act era where we finally come home to ourselves.
I’ve made it through divorce, blended family living, religious deconstruction & cult survival, launching four children, menopause, and now retirement, etc. All these lives in this one body has given me the ability to translate my lived experiences into effective, meaningful support for women in midlife. So if you want help getting through your BIG upheavals, I’m here for it.
My Background
I was raised in a home shaped by alcoholism and divorce. I learned very early on to read the emotional weather, make myself small to keep the peace, and stay under the radar. From the time I was 17 until my late 40s, I was committed to a high-control religion and marriage. It took me many years to realize what was no longer healthy for me.
Walking away wasn’t impulsive although I’d masked so efficiently than many were surprised. Leaving was the slow, sacred work of truth-telling: Can I keep doing this for the rest of my life? And if I do, what story will my children inherit about love, faith, and self-worth?
The answer asked me to choose authenticity over approval. To leave what was familiar but was 100% a slow death. This is where I can help you. You don’t have to suffer, abandon yourself, and not know yourself.
I can help you embark on the lifelong work of coming home to yourself – maybe for the first time.
I’m willing to share with you how I’m still unlearning things too, and am slowly reclaiming myself through a thousand tiny, courageous choices.
The harsh reality is no one is rescuing us. We have to became the one we needed. I will help you through the messiness of what’s real, in witnessing beauty and pain, in choosing self-presence even when it breaks you open. That, to me, is sacred.
